PSAT  Testing

The West Chester Area School District announces with pleasure an opportunity for career and college planning this fall.  Starting with the 2007-2007 school year, we will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT all juniors and sophomores .

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) will be administered Wednesday, October 17, 2007.

College bound juniors take this test as practice for the SAT’s and to enter the competition for National Merit Scholarships as well as other corporate scholarships.  Sophomores take the PSAT as practice for the junior year testing.  Please note that sophomore students need to take the PSAT again in their junior year to compete in the scholarship program.  The PSAT measures verbal and mathematical aptitude.

We believe that responsible decision-making is based, in part, on objective information.  The information obtained from this testing opportunity will give you measurable data which can help you and your student make these decisions.

Note to students:    Don't forget your calculator!

NOTE:      PLAN testing (practice test for the ACT) will be held at Rustin H.S. on December 8, 2007.   Contact the Rustin Counseling office for more information including registration.
