Reading Olympics

Reading Olympics

Reading Olympics is open to all fourth and fifth grade students who wish to participate. Students choose books from a book list developed by the Chester County Intermediate Unit. There are 45 books on the list. In April or May each year, there is a Reading Olympics Competition which is held in the evening. Students will be chosen to compete based upon the number of books read and their knowledge of the books.

After reading a book, students are asked to write three questions, and their answers, on notecards to help us to prepare for the competition. In addition, the students should take a quiz on Book Adventure (see the links below) and print out the results OR write a summary of the book to hand in. If the students are writing about the books in their reading response journals for class, that will suffice also.

Book Adventure Website - New users will have to register, so I've sent you to the registration page. Remember to check with your parents first.
