(FLES)
¡Bienvenidos
a la clase de español!
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The West Chester Area School
District’s FLES program compliments and reinforces the core curriculum. It is
designed to introduce each student to basic vocabulary and phrases necessary for
simple communication in Spanish.
Every student in grade one through five participates in the FLES program.
Classes are held twice a week for a total of 60 minutes of Spanish instruction.
Each 30 minute session is filled with an array of multi-sensory activities to
accommodate a variety of learning styles. Listening comprehension skills are
emphasized in order to promote a natural learning experience in the language.
Culture, which is woven throughout the curriculum, provides opportunities for
children to connect with their own culture and compare their culture with
others.
