Welcome to the Penn Wood Gifted Program web site!  Our goal is to provide learning opportunities which support the academic, social and emotional needs of our students. The menu listed above provides a snapshot our program.  Our courses offer a wide range of investigations to help nurture higher order thinking skills as well as providing  opportunities for discovery.  Click on the Courses link to view descriptions of  courses.  New courses are being created to add to the available experiences for 2007-2008 school year.  Check out the activities which provided our students with high levels of critical thinking, and environmental stewardship. The Newsletter link will give updated news and information.

The Community Service link will showcase activities and events which our students are involved with  that foster family participation, science education and wellness to our total school community.  Look at images  from our last hike at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area as well as our hike on the Appalachian Trail.  The Envirothon Club is open to all Penn Wood Elementary students. These experiences are designed to promote enrichment opportunities for all members of the Penn Wood Elementary School community.

We thank you for the opportunity to work with your children, and look forward to working together on projects which benefit our community of life long learners.
