Envirothon Club

**2008 Registration**

Pre-Service Gifted Resource Teacher Erika Heiduk works with a group of students in the 2007 Envirothon Club.

Our Envirothon Club provides an opportunity for any Penn Wood Elementary student to join us for an investigation of wildlife and issues impacting our state plants and animals.  Students participate in once a week sessions designed to promote interest and first hand experiences.  Our beautiful Penn Wood campus provides a variety of habitats that can be explored. This past year, over 90 students from first through fifth grade participated in our program.  It has been great to see how interested and excited so many of our Penn Wood students feel for learning more about our wildlife and environment.

During the spring of 2007, we sent two teams to the Chester County Envirothon, held at Hibernia County Park.  One team included first and second graders while the second team featured third through fifth grade students.  Our teams represented our school with pride.  Please click on the registration letter to involve your child in the program. The special theme for the 2008 Envirothon addresses environmental impact due to recreation.
